There are four things that can cause a candle to smoke:
"Mushrooms" are carbon deposits caused by highly fragrant candles. They usually appear after a long burning cycle. Trim the "mushroom" deposits before lighting the candle. make sure trimmings do not fall into the wax pool. This could become a fire hazard. Keep wick centered and trimmed to 1/4" at all times and remove trimmings. To burn your candle evenly. Don't extinguish until top layer is liquefied. Return to top When you light your Kettle Creek candle, it is very important to allow the entire top layer of the candle to liquefy. Every time you light your candle you will want to repeat the same process. This will enable your candle to burn evenly and you will also maximize the burning time.
